Family Circle Cup

Our busiest week of the year is upon us – you can catch us catering all of the private suites and events at Family Circle Cup this year!

We’ve got an awesome and playful menu in store for the player party – which includes 240 pounds of candy for a monochromatic candy bar and paired specialty cocktails at each station.

Last but not least, we’ll be partnering up with The Lee Bros. for a private VIP event, sampling  a taste of Charleston culinary culture and their new cookbook Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen.

Stay tuned on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter all week for live updates and lots of behind-the-scenes tournament photos!

Food Styling

Personalization is what makes an event memorable. From serving your favorite foods and a quintessentially “you” cocktail to representing your style in the place cards and style of china, the look and feel of the details of your events are what stick out in photos and in your guests memories.

When thinking about your menu- have a discussion with your caterer about how you would like food displays to look. Many custom options are available. We recently worked on a lovely rustic rehearsal dinner at Middleton Place Stable Yards. Check out the great dessert display, featuring cake stands from OOH Events and Curiosity.

Incorporating fun decorative items like mason jars, fresh produce & exposed rustic wood rounds is an easy way to create budget friendly decor that leaves a lasting impression!

Pro Am Jam

The Duvall Decor team had a great time letting their creative juices flow for the Pro Am Jam this week. The centerpieces had live beta fish…need we say more? We love working on corporate events because it allows us to use out-of-the-box and unconventional ideas that wouldn’t work in a traditional wedding setting. The event took place at Family Circle Stadium and benefited various children’s charities. Check out some of the photos of set-up below!

Farm to Table Ingredients

Duvall has been working with Grow Food Carolina to source the freshest produce for our events. These beautiful patty pan squash were cut off the vine this morning and delivered to our kitchen this afternoon. They’ll be sizzling in the pan in a few hours and on a dinner plate tonight.

Summer squash are in full bloom in Charleston and when we’re dealing with the freshest local ingredients, we like to make sure the flavor shines. Tonight, we’ll be serving sauteed local summer squash with roasted spring onion, shaved garlic and extra virgin olive oil.

5-minute Charleston Summer Squash

Cut squash into bite-size pieces.

Heat pan to medium-high heat with 2tsp olive oil.

Quickly sautee onion until translucent, add garlic a minute or two later. Let cook for another minute. Add squash- toss and let sautee for 2-3 more minutes. Remove from heat and finish with course sea salt and enjoy!

According to Grow Food’s website, ”GrowFood Carolina’s mission is to help link local farmers to local and regional markets by providing adequate infrastructure and coordination so that fresh produce can move seamlessly from local farmers’ land to consumers’ hands.”

Check out Grow Food’s website for other local vendors supporting the “from land to hand” movement!
