Duvall Team Feature: Catering and Events Sales Manager, Amanda McCarthy
We’re featuring members of the incredible team that make up Duvall Catering & Events. This week we sat down with Amanda McCarthy as a part of our Duvall team spotlight series. Amanda, a Catering and Events Sales Manager, has been with us for over 5 years starting as an intern in 2013. It is needless to say that her off beat enthusiasm always has the office laughing and her clients at ease. Our usual questionnaire was complete with her usual flair!
What is your dream job?
Slinging hot dogs at Yankee Stadium. I’d get to be at my favorite place every day!
What are you known for?
I’m the office’s Sour Patch Kid – a little sassy but also sweet and fun.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to spend time with my pals – happy hour, brunch, etc… Or hanging out at home with my goldendoodle, Hudson, watching baseball or Netflix.
What is your favorite thing(s) on our menu?
Our Herb and Cheese Tenderloin Biscuits, the Vegetable Strudel with Balsamic Glaze and the Ginger Mint Mojito
What do you love most about your current position and our industry?
I love getting to meet new people and love knowing that each event is going to be unique and different – never having to do the same thing twice! The hospitality community is so tight-knit that I also enjoy connecting with others in the industry.
You step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do?
I’d get a 2nd home somewhere in the mountains and probably buy myself a G-Wagon. I would, of course, save money, invest and share with my family too.
What food are you? Why?
I’m a pistachio nut. A classy nut that has a hard exterior, but definitely worth cracking into.
What was the first sign you encountered that you were in the right industry?
I knew from my first interview with Jean Fisk at Duvall that I was in right industry! She and the rest of the team were so welcoming and supportive that I couldn’t have imagined myself anywhere else. We are so lucky to work with such amazing and talented people inside and outside of our company.
