Learn MoreWe’re featuring members of the incredible team that make up Duvall Catering & Events. This week we sat down with Alicia Brewer as a part of our Duvall team spotlight series. Alicia is our Senior Catering & Event Sales Manager and just celebrated her 12-year anniversary in July! Her bubbly, can-do attitude is what we love about her!
What is your dream job?
Probably a corporate event planner. I’d love to be on the other side of the planning process and be the decision maker! I’d love to be the one selecting the menu, finding the location, and hand picking the vendors.
What are you known for?
I’m known for my bubbly personality, being organized, being a mom and my great bangs!
What do you like to do in your free time?
Heading to Seabrook Island with my family, or about anything kids-free!! Going out to dinner, movie dates, girls’ night out, and traveling.
What is your favorite thing(s) on our menu?
This is a hard one, because my favorite changes all the time. Currently craving – Oreo brownies & anything on our new passed hors d’oeuvre menu!
What do you love most about your current position and our industry?
Current position – I love the ability to work with wedding couples and corporate clients on the same day! No event is ever alike, so I always have something new to work on. I also work with the best people! My work family is one of the biggest reasons I have worked at Duvall for 12 years!
Industry – As competitive as this market is, everyone has each other’s back! We are a supportive and collaborative industry.
You step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do?
Married to a financial guy, we would have to invest first! But then, work part time, travel to Italy every year for a month stay, and buy a new house with huge yard for our family!
What was the first sign you encountered that you were in the right industry?
As a senior in college my professor requested we job shadow someone in our current dream job. I found Duvall in the Yellow Pages and gave them a try. Jean Fisk, the current sales director at the time, answered and approved my request. I followed her and volunteered in the décor department through my last semester. I have been here since….
