Learn MoreThis week we are featuring Whitney Fields as a part of our Duvall team spotlight series! She began working for Duvall Catering & Events 6 years ago and has been a part of our floral and décor team, operations team, contract management team and now the sales and marketing team. Whitney’s attention to detail and strong communication skills is what makes her excel in her role as one of our Catering and Event Sales Managers!
What is your dream job?
Destination elopement planning! Adventure weddings are near and dear to my heart, and I love how you can focus in on special, sweet details.
What are you known for?
At work probably over communication – I love to spell every single detail out on paper, in emails and then rehash it again at a one-on-one meeting to make sure all the pieces are perfect! At home – a control, neat freak who gets pumped about new cleaning supplies.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Eat good food, cook good food, attempt to garden (big emphasis on attempt) and pet all the dogs.
What is your favorite thing(s) on our menu?
Our Fried Chicken Slider (because pickles and fried chicken = yesss) and our Russet Crisp topped with Short Ribs (chips and beef are arguably my two favorite things ever).
What do you love most about your current position and our industry?
I love how fast paced and ever-changing this industry is. No two clients are ever the same and we are constantly able to be creative.
You step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do?
Build a converted Sprinter van and travel North America for a year. Save some, invest some and pay off my house.
What food are you? Why?
Interesting – how about a mini tomato pie – small and classic – but always a crowd fav.
What was the first sign you encountered that you were in the right industry?
I knew I was in the right industry long before actually being on the sales and management side of my career. The moment I knew I was headed down the right path was after working my first 12+ hour shift as a server for Duvall and coming home exhausted – but still realizing I was excited to do it again!
