Learn MoreWe’re featuring members of the incredible team that make up Duvall Catering & Events. This week we sat down with Emma Lesesne Booth for a fun Q&A as a part of our Duvall team spotlight series. Emma is our Senior Catering & Event Sales Manager and has been with us for 12 years (13 in January 2019)! She serves as a great mentor to our group of sales coordinators because of her industry experience. If you’ve ever worked with Emma, you know what a joy she is to be around. We love having her on our team!
What is your dream job?
My dream job would be to work for a Non-Profit that I’m passionate about, that still allows me to work directly with people daily.
What are you known for?
Everything! I am very social and always have random pieces of knowledge that are interesting but not very useful. Here’s what some other friends said: Connector – loyal, graceful, thoughtful, bring together interesting people and always pay attention to the details and “feel” of things…
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love anything that has to do with food! I love to cook, bake, feed people, travel and entertain friends and family by hosting dinner parties.
What is your favorite thing(s) on our menu?
My favorites things right now are our classic Pimento Cheese and Chef Cassi’s Panna Cotta.
What do you love most about your current position and our industry?
I love that I get to help people celebrate fun, joyful occasions, AND I get to work with so many fun people in the event industry in Charleston, AND my office life changes from day to day. I’m not just sitting at a desk in front of a computer.
You step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do?
Set up trusts for my kids, start some sort of non – profit for kids/ animals/ education (not quite sure), take an awesome vacation, set up my parents for their retirement…probably pretty normal stuff. I’d still have to work on something, I can’t imagine sitting at home twiddling my thumbs.
What was the first sign you encountered that you were in the right industry?
When I started working in the sales office at Charleston Place Hotel side by side with fun people who got to do this for a living. They started teaching me the ropes, and I was hooked.
